Overview
If you want to give a fun and memorable gift, or just a card, which you’re not likely to forget, a good approach is to make it something that you would not usually see. It’s about making it unusual and unexpected. Most cards and gifts are boring and predictable, so the opposite of this is something silly and playful. The easiest way to do this is by making it a bit dirty or naughty, using words or themes that are not normally seen on cards or gifts.
What are dirty cards and gifts?
I think we all know the answer to this already, but I’ll spell it out here anyway: they are just ones which mention something we would normally prefer not talk about.
So why do we not like talking about some things? It’s usually one of two reasons:
- Because we think it’s disgusting, like poo or farts.
- Because we feel embarrassed about it, like a body part or doing something sexy.
That’s really all there is to it; anything that fits into one of these categories is considered dirty. In reality though most people feel differently about the various possibilities. For example, some people might be OK with talking about sex, but not OK with talking about farting. The opposite is true for some people as well; they’re happy making fart jokes but the idea of saying ‘vagina’ makes them want to cry and hide behind their mum.
Why do we like to send dirty gifts?
This seems like a simple question with an obvious answer, but actually there are many reasons which I’ll go through here.
We want them to enjoy it
This is probably the main reason; we want whoever receives our gift (or card) to have fun when they open it. That sounds simple but actually there’s more going on here than you might think… Let’s see what happens: you give them your little box (or whatever) and they open it in front of you. They see what you’ve bought for them and have some sort of emotional reaction which appears on their face. They look at you with love in their eyes (or whatever) while everyone else watches. But what does this mean? What actually happened? You made them feel something! This is the real reason I think – when we give someone a present we want them to have an emotional reaction because that means they will remember us. We all want to be noticed and remembered – there’s nothing worse than being ignored!
We want everyone else to notice as well
This is similar to the last point but in this case the person who receives your gift isn’t the only one who notices; everyone else does as well. By giving someone a good present you get everyone’s attention; how can that be bad? This works especially well if your present is something funny because everyone laughs at once. If you can cause this sort of reaction then you know that you did well!
We just don’t know what else to buy!
This might sound silly but I think this is often the case: sometimes when buying someone a present it can be really hard knowing what sort of thing they would like. I don’t know why this should be; maybe I’m just special (in my own very special way) but I never know what people would appreciate receiving as a present. The good thing though is that I don’t really need to! Everyone enjoys receiving something playful sometimes so if you buy anything from our shop then there’s almost no chance that they won’t like it!
When should you send a dirty card or gift?
The obvious answer here is: whenever they need one! But when could that be? Let’s see… The most common situation I think is going through a break-up; whether they initiated it or not, most people feel bad afterwards so need some support from their friends. Usually the best way help with this sort of thing is just make them laugh! That always helps me anyway – sometimes all I need is someone make me giggle so I forget about whatever was bothering me! In fact I’d say this applies for almost any situation where someone has had enough of normal life: whether because their job sucks, their partner sucks (in a bad way), their family suck or their cat keeps getting sucked up in the hoover. The best dirty presents for her or him
I’m afraid there isn’t an easy answer here because everyone likes different things. A lot depends on why you're buying it; if it's just supposed to make them giggle then I'd suggest looking at either our candle section or soap section - both have plenty of choices for girls and boys. Alternatively if it's supposed to be more romantic then take look at our candles again - they're always good for setting the mood! Or maybe it's supposed to be more practical? In that case I'd recommend looking at our mug section - they're always useful even if they're too scared use them! How to choose the right dirty card or gift
Again there isn't really an easy answer - as usual it comes down what she likes! But don't worry I'll try help anyway. As with most things in life it's best considered from two different angles: first decide what she likes then decide how much she likes it! Ok let's start with the first part; does she prefer silly childish jokes about farts or bums? Or does she prefer things which are more grown up such as boobs? Or maybe both?! This seems quite common actually - many women like both sorts depending on her mood... Now let's consider how much she likes either sort - there's quite a range here too! Some women like stuff that's very gentle while others prefer stuff that's very direct. For example compare these two candles: You're lovely I wish I could shove my hand inside your vagina One of these candles has a message that's much more subtle than other! See if you can guess which one 😁 Some women appreciate getting either sort but you'll probably find she has preference one way other.
