If you want a quick answer: the cock gifts we sell are silly things shaped like cocks. They’re usually not sexual, just silly and funny.
What are cock gifts?
The most common cock gift is probably a card, which is usually sent to someone as a joke. A typical example is the ‘mayb your birthday be filled’ card. This is the sort of thing that many people say to their friends, so it’s a light-hearted joke and definitely not intended to be mean or cruel. For some reason, the word ‘knob’ is used more commonly than ‘cock’, so this could be because it’s less offensive or maybe because it’s funnier; I don’t know, but that’s what I’ve noticed. However there are plenty of products that feature cocks: badges, stickers, candles, chocolates and more. As with the cards, these are just sent as a joke. Who buys them?
I’d say that most people who buy these sorts of gifts are women buying for men. Of course we do get men buying them too, but not as commonly. I’ve noticed with all of our products that women seem to be much more comfortable buying something silly or inappropriate. I really don’t know why this is, but I suspect it’s because of some sort of social conditioning whereby women feel safer taking risks than men do. I could be wrong though.
When are they given?
Usually it’s for a birthday. It seems to be quite common for people to give each other silly cards and gifts for birthdays – why not? We do also get people buying these sorts of things for other occasions such as Christmas or Valentine’s day but it’s much less common.
