How do you say happy birthday to a very special person?

Overview

The most important thing is to do something that shows that you care enough to put some effort in. It doesn't have to be expensive or difficult, but the more personal the better.

Introduction

I think we all know by now that there are two main types of people in this world; those that like to make a big deal about their birthday, and those that don't. I think for the majority of people, some sort of recognition from friends and family is welcome, even if they don't want a big party or anything.

If you're reading this article I suspect you're looking for something a little bit more than just a card and a bottle of wine, so let's start with the first question...

Are you looking for something romantic or not?

I'm guessing if it's just a friend, you probably wouldn't be reading this article, so I'll assume it's your partner. Even then though it might be that you're looking for something silly and fun rather than the usual lovey-dovey stuff.

I think it comes down to how long you've been together. If it's a new relationship you probably want to play it safe and get something that's fairly generic. If you've known them for years you'll have much more of an idea of what would work.

Do they like naughty humour?

This is another one where if you've been together for years you'll know the answer already. Of course if they're completely humourless you'll know that too, but I suspect that's not the case otherwise you wouldn't be reading this!

So assuming they do like silly humour, what sort of thing should you get? Well we have loads of options ranging from cards and candles through to gift boxes and mugs.

The cards are the easiest place to start because we have so many options. If you look at our summary page at https://mrinappropriate.co.uk/collections/birthday-cards

After 25+ years juggling IT and management, Dan realized that many people (including friends, family, and coworkers) were grappling with anxiety and stress brought on by modern life. Determined to offer some comic relief, he founded Mr. Inappropriate, an online store for wonderfully rude and funny adult gifts and cards. Through weekly true stories, naughty product lines, and genuine one-on-one connections with customers, Dan’s mission is to help people safely push social boundaries, share a good laugh, and discover that being a bit “inappropriate” can be surprisingly therapeutic. A proud Yorkshire resident, Dan remains steadfast in his belief that humour is one of the best ways to escape the pressures of everyday life, and that a well-timed, mischievous gift can often o more good than any pill.
